Vehicle Description
Selling a 1998 Chevrolet Tahoe. 4 Door, 5.7L V8 Engine, Automatic, with 4WD. Truck has approx. 246k on the odometer. This was my daily driver for nearly 2 years until this May when I bought a pickup. I had planned on keeping it around for a backup 4wd but I don’t the time or interest to work on it.
The truck is very solid, very little rust on the vehicle. Has a good set of Cooper tires with later model Chevrolet aluminum wheels. In the past 2 years I’ve replaced shocks, brakes, and battery. Truck was very well maintained prior to my purchase and I’ve done the same. Transmission was rebuilt at approx. 160k miles.
Truck runs but has a few issues that I am aware of. I am not a mechanic so take all of this with a grain of salt.
It’s losing coolant from the front portion of the engine and I believe it’s due to a bad lower intake gasket. I have a replacement kit, along with a water pump, to go with the truck.
The brake light in the gauge cluster is on and there is very little pressure on the pedal. It will stop from a roll but I have not had it on the road since this issue arose. I can’t let anyone drive it on public roadway while this issue exists. I have no idea what’s causing the issue.
Something is drawing off of the battery and it has to be jumped to be started.
Air conditioning doesn’t get cold. Fan blows but only warm air. I have no idea as to what the cause is.
Engine burns oil. It’s a Chevy 350 with nearly 250k so I suppose this is not unusual.
Steering is getting somewhat loose and needs to be adjusted, or worn parts replaced. It squeaks so there may be some components that need attention.
Exhaust pipes are rusted through.
Gas gauge doesn’t work.
Considerable amount of clear coat has worn off.
Price is $750 cash. Truck will need to be towed/hauled to your destination. Clean title is in my name and it will be transferred at the court house at the time of transaction. Contact me via email with any questions
