Used 1968 Pontiac GTO for sale in Groveland, CA

Evidence appears to show that this car spent its whole life in Arizona until a major GTO collector bought it at a Mecum Auction in Anaheim, CA nearly 5 years ago; it's been driven less than 1,200 miles since that auction. It's current owner bought the car two years ago at a huge multi-store CA consignment dealer. Early in the photos are factory broadcast sheets found under a seat, indicating this car is an authentic GTO built in the Fremont, CA factory.Except for the paint and the replacement of back seat upholstery, dash cover, and carpets the car is entirely original. The paint is perfect and the interior excellent. Virtually no rust (see undercarriage photos). Brakes and tires are at 50% remaining life. The soft top is in great shape but its headliner has some tears. The radiator was recently replaced. The Pontiac Historical Society (PHS) has verified the production details of this car (see at the end of the photos). This beauty is stored in our new display warehouse location near Lockeford near Lodi, CA (about 45 minutes from Sacramento International Airport).General Motors drastically redesigned its A-body line for 1968, with more curvaceous, semi-fastback styling, which was a revival of a streamlining on all GM products from 1942 until 1950 as demonstrated on the Pontiac Streamliner. The new GTO featured a new shorter 112-inch wheelbase for the 2-door models and the fashionable long hood-short deck treatment. The 1968 Pontiac GTO received hidden headlights and an energy absorbing body-colored polyurethane front bumper. The dash was redesigned with three pods. The left gauge showed oil, charging and coolant temperature lights, and the fuel gauge. The speedometer took up the center space, and the right gauge could either be an 8,000 tachometer or a large rally clock. GTO sales rebounded to 87,684 units, with 77,704 Hardtops and 9,980 Convertibles for the 1968 model year.According to Hagerty Valuation Tools, this year/model GTO has been relatively flat in value for over 5 years. Beginning in May of 2021 the valuations were up about 8% in September. New values the 2nd week of January are up another roughly10% to#1 Concours $94,500, #2 Excellent $79,290, #3 Good $54,490, #4 Fair $36,990.The values shown are for this car's exact build minus 10% for the automatic transmission.
